Security issue with robot vacuum cleaners!

This is ridiculous, but apparently robot vacs from one company are taking photos inside peoples houses.

I think that turns me off iot for life.
How do I know my computer hardware has not been similarly compromised?

I hope that the one that is viewing the photo, at least gives me a thumbs up!!!

I have no doubt that your image would make a significant contribution to AI and thereby change the world forever.

Absolutely…

I assume that is meant to be a compliment, but in reality, whom would want to view a photo of a redneck from Arkansas!!!

I would think that a small piece of electrical tape would fix a picture-shooting vacuum robot. The bigger question–who would buy a vacuum robot???

Kind of how I fixed the check engine light on my old Chevy pickup!!!

I may also stop it vacuuming.
My point really was, if they can do that in a vacuum cleaner, what other things are they bugging?

This AI training business does not add up. I have written software (for image analysis) that needed to be trained… you need very precise information to train something… not zillions of undocumented pictures.

I guess Big Tech is trying to train humans, not to think!!!

It is succeeding. All started with the first calculator. Now everyone is innumerate.

I absolutely love your coinage for people who don’t do numbers! Not only are they usually illiterate, but they’re almost certainly innumerate! Well done!

I cant claim it as mine. Picked it up somewhere.

What is a vacuum cleaner !?
Its not in my dictionary… but we dont have carpets so not used one for 20 plus years. Cannot beat a dustpan and brush, but its hard to program just saves on electric bills
