Setting up my new Epson Eco-tank printer-scanner on Garuda-XFCE

Hi Paul,
If you don’t mind me giving you a piece of advice, before you buy, search the web to see if there are any problems with compatibility with a particular brand or model.

I didn’t do that and, before the Epson EcoTank, I bought an HP. As my wife works in Windows, installing the printer was simple. I, on Linux, gave up trying to install it correctly. When I needed a document printed correctly, I printed it in Windows. The solution, I think after two months of buying the HP, was to buy the Epson.
There are more brands that work correctly on Linux, but research the brand and model before buying a printer

I’m still using my HP Envy 4520 after nearly seven years. At five years I changed the print head (ordered from Amazon) because of the buildup mentioned above. And I use InstantInk; paying $2 a month to have HP send me ink whenever I need it saves money. I only print in color rarely, 10-12 pages a month. I threw the last Epson in the trash rather than try to fix it.

Well, I already have my new Epson EcoTank, so I’ll see over time how it works out. As for HP, I object to how they traditionally have dealt with third-party ink cartridges, so I won’t have one.
