Setting up proxy server from terminal in Linux

My college monitors the network via a proxy server. I have applied the settings to the system settings as well as my browser. However, I’m not able to update apps or use the software centre to install apps. What is the terminal command to set up a system-wide proxy server address?
P.S.: I did google my question, but the results weren’t helpful.

If you already “googled” and not got the answer, few can be done.:sleepy:
But i think that you must change the mode how software centre connect for
Internet, you need “speak” for that App that you connect with proxy server.
( The Linux consideer that the connection Internet is DIRECT ( NO PROXIES )
IF YOU CONNECT WITH PROXY, SHOULD INFORM FOR LINUX. ).You can
use the conf file for begin, but i not know as make it.Hope have helped you
Alternatly you can right click in connections and edit connections. In proxy field
you fill the mode how your PC go connect for Internet, it can solve your problem
