So how many times do I need to explain. Whatever I try, internal or external disk, different PC, Solus won’t install. Always with the same error.
Boot Solus from live USB with UEFI works. Now I’m trying to install.
That is not what @Daniel_Phillips wants explained.
Daniel wants to know each step you take during the install
because
it is most likely that you are choosing the wrong option somewhere during the install.
This may be the issue!!! I made the same mistake!!! Leave the disk unallocated and use manuel tab in the installer and create and assign mount points, from within the installer!!! Jus make sure you point the installer to the correct disk!!!

What I did:
Connect to Wifi.
Create partitions in Gparted.
Start install.
Select language.
Select time zone.
“Manual install” > device “/dev/sdb” > choose mount points > “leave as-is (keep format)”.
Choose bootloader installation on /dev/sdb1.
Create user.
Start install.
And then the error comes.
Then you had partitions already created? With Solus you leave the device unallocated, create partitions and assign mount points within the installer!!! You do not set /dev/sdb1 for the bootloader, if this is UEFI, it is set by the Solus installer!!
So basically all you do, once inside the installer is create a 1024 Fat32 partition mounted @ /boot, and a / partition of at least 40GB mounted @/, or if desired a /home partition mounted @/home!!
For myself I just used two partitions on a GPT 240GB SSD, I have a screenshot, if you need it!!!
Why this matters!!! Solus is very picky, when it comes to “mount points” and it will not always accept mount point on pre-installed partitions!!! The Solus install is, rather automated, especially, on GPT and UEFI boot, but if you use the installer, you will have a better chance for a successful install.
If your machine has enough ram, a swap partition is really not needed!!!
UPDATE: Please can an admin close this. This has been ongoing, and I think it’s no longer necessary. I’ve noticed some unfriendly language here, and I’m just going to go to AerynOS to end this discussion for sake.

I regard that as the solution. Thank you @Daniel_Phillips .
The topic stays. Other people may wish to know that a Solus install to a uefi machine may take over your disk and obliterate any other filesystems that may be present. I would not recommend a Solus install on a uefi multiboot computer… it is OK if there is nothing else on your disk.
