I believe it is supposed to be for when you do a dyslexic ls

I need educating because I don’t know what a dyslexic ls is.

Look at the keyboard.
‘l’ and ‘s’ are on opposite sides
It is common to get the left and right hand movements in wrong order and type ‘sl’ instead of ‘ls’
dyslexic literally means getting things out of lexicographic order.

The common use of the term dyslexia means poor reading ability perhaps due to jumbling of words and letters

I’m with you now but dyslexic has nothing to do with what I posted.

If you install a binary called ‘sl’, you will one day accidentally run it when you attempt to type ‘ls’

Thanks Neville, I now completely understand.
Shows how poor my novice knowledge is.
The linux learning curve is steep and thankfully folk like you are here for advice.

I never knew this one, thanks!
Funny!

Another one “easter egg”:

apt moo

(You don’t need to be root for doing that)

Some distributions also have the ‘fuck’ command in their repositories. This corrects your previous command in case you made a spelling mistake.
