Trouble opening the "App" application on Ubuntu 24.04 on Gateway i3

Hi everyone,

I recently downloaded and installed Ubuntu 24.04, but I’m having trouble activating the APP Application. When I try to open it, I just get a quick black square flash and then nothing happens. Because of this, I can’t look up or download software.

I’m using an old Gateway desktop with an i3 processor. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this or another way to successfully look up and download apps?

Hi @Tex_Willer ,
You can always use the apt command to download and install software.
but
I fear there is something wrong… the apt command may not work either on your Ubuntu
so
can you check … is the internet connection working?.. just see if you can use the web browser… that will check the connection.

Think you need to reinstall your system again from scratch to make sure everything is set correctly
