Is there a way when the system is idle to automatically spin down the hard drives?
As it is now they seem to run forever.
Thanks

I tried ‘hdparm -y /dev/sdb’ but no kuck.
Said command completed but no spin down.
Might be a factor device is a raid-1 drive with two ST1000LM049 drives.
