I am getting a “Unable to Install GRUB in /dev/sda” message. The computer is an older 64 bit HP computer and it already has Windows 10 installed
Does anyone have any idea what exactly this means, other than it is a fatal error, and how can I fix it?
Thanks in advance for any assistance that can be provided!

Hello,
Does your system have only one disk? Is it UEFI+GPT or MBR? That could make a difference. If it’s UEFI, you should have an ESP partition.
There is no one definite reason for this error. You may try a few things and reinstall it.
Try to disable fast boot and secure boot (for UEFI system)
Do not connect to network and download updates and install media codecs while installing
It had UEFI disabled.
I did not see anything about fast boot, or secure boot
I enabled UEFI and it did the same thing.
It is NOT connected to the internet.
I returned UEFI to disabled
I tried to do a minimal installation and it failed
There is ONLY 1 disk, but since it is dual boot, it is partitioned
Any other ideas?

@engineerwin
Do a screenshot using Gparted and post your partition layout.
