Update on Ubuntu and 32-bit Support

Not sure how to feel about this. I still think it’s a mistake for Canonical to make this decision. I think they will loose quite a few users as a result.

Canonical says they might not cut it off entirely according to this recent blog post

Glad to see they are listening to the community.

I think it is bound to happen and I remember how people complained about dropping 16 bit support when 32 was introduced and it will happen when 128 is introduced as well no doubt.

I’ll probably be switching distro’s and not updating the two 19.04 systems I run… probably to debian…

I’m using Proton and Wine via Steam and need updates to that stack when they happen, because a lot of them are for game performance - not just pull the multi-lib and i386 blobs from Ubuntu 18.04… (and quite a few games I run have i386 stuff)

So will probably goodbye from me to Canonical…
