Perhaps we should start a discussion on what do you ride or drive with images and why.

How about a convertible?
Here’s a nice 1950 Austin convertible.
Wrong side drive though.

3 headlights?
I never owned an Austin but have heard they were prone to oil leaks. Modern seals would probably fix that
Sorry, I am not very good at moving replies.
Lets start from here
Thanks Neville i was not sure about posting a new discussion so far away frommthe normal.
Although i have a car and been through several different makes and models they dont really do anything for me as a person.
Motorcycling is my passion.
I started as a passenger behind my dad at a very young age, as soon as i could hold on to his bsa bantam. He then bought me a field bike when i was 13 which i rode most weeks in a local fjeld. At 16 he then got me a honda ss50 which i used everyday road legal.
Progress through honda, suzuki, kawasaki, yamaha different times and different sizes until family life began and bikes were put away for company cars, although i met my first wife on a honda 125 when she came for riding lessons with me.
Moving to france re kindled my desire so started with a small yamaha 125 mainly to get confidence back, when my wife filed for divorce i bought a harley davidson thinking she is not getting everything money or transportwise.
The harley served me for over 10 years but my new wife found it uncomfortable even with bigger seat and back rest so she stopped wanting to go out also it got heavy for me to control so 2 years back i swapped for a honda monkey ok its only 125 but great fun to ride.
I use it a lot…
I don’t have a good pic of it rn. I use it to go to class, college and even if I have to bring some stuff from say oike 2 or 3 km radius!
I had a Yamaha 80 street/trail bike 40 years ago. It had a big (trail) and a small (street) drive sprocket. She Who Must Be Obeyed thought the money would be better invested in a table saw. Soon I was in A&E getting my finger fixed.
Bike had a combination generator/starter. Haven’t seen one since.
Enjoying driving our Subaru Solterra, waving as I pass the gas station.
I’ve never owned motorcycle but think they’re great fun.
More-so than a car.
About 51 years ago I bought a 1967 registered Ford Anglia for £200.
Not this one, mine wasn’t as good looking on a good day.
I had one like this, in 1969. Ran fine after I swapped all the Lucas stuff out for Bosch stuff. And like the bumper sticker says, ‘this vehicle only drops genuine British auto parts.’
I ran my own auto body repair shop a long time ago.
Not a chop shop although it could have been but wasn’t swayed that way.
I used to repair big corrosion holes in old Vauxhalls, Fords etc for car dealers.
Rust was accepted in those days
An E-TypeJag mechanic working nearby liked my output and consequently we restored a few of them between us.
I once ran out of petrol on a busy high street by a crowded bus top in an E-Type.
That was embarrassing walking for fuel and back to get the thing going again.
I had one of the first model Honda 50’s when I went to Uni. It was about a 10K trip and it saved me a heap of time compared to public transport.
Then , when I went to the outback job, I bought a Landrover. Then when I married we got a Valiant stationwagon which was one of the best vehicles we ever owned … we wore it right out and I traded it for another Landrover, which we still have today… it is now 56 years old, has done 600000 Km, and yes @berninghausen it still has the Lucas electrics. We dont register it any more, but it is used every day on the farm.
Our road vehicle today is a Mitsubishi Lancer stationwagon. We also have a Toyota Hilux SR5 ute.
I have not quite abandoned bikes. We have a Honda CT125 Ag Bike that I bought as a basket case for $300 and rebuilt. Get most of my equipment off the rubbish tip.
Our tractor is a 59 year old John Deere 2010R… it is a strange old beast … the motor is an indirect injection diesel… but it has good hydraulics and a very useful front end loader.
Wish I could, no chance of anything lingering for long here.
Too many regular street bin scourers.
Having said that I recently rescued a filthy dual suspension bicycle dumped by the bins.
Pumped the tires up and was good to go.
Was a lucky unusual bin find for me in my neighbourhood.
Before getting married for the first time I bought a moskvich van, second hand to take my disco gear to shows trying to earn money to pay for a house etc.
Although Russian built it did not like uk weather so went rusty and i had to hand oaint it several times to cover the rust. But drove wonderful in the snow, i never got stuck. Continued for many years until one day going round a corner the suspension dropped at one side as the holding plate broke, drove it home and found a big steel plate which i cut and riveted in place to repair it then covered the plate in underseal to hid the repair. Sold it on for the same price i paid.
I still have and use the tool kit jack and foot pump that came with it some 45 years later
Ended up after with a mini van, but the gearbox dropped out of that so had to buy a new estate to keep working.
First car : Morris Major Elite (yes - the “Elite”!). The Major was an Aussie variant on the Austin Cambridge, but had tailfins. Same basic motor engine block as bunch of other BMC and Leyland vehicles, the MGB actually used the same engine block design… 1980-1982 (model year was 1963 I think)
Didn’t own another car for nearly 30 years… Motorcycles :
Year is the model year, not necessarily the year I owned it)
1983 Kawasaki Z250T (twin - brand new from dealer)
1971 Honda XL175
1978 Yamaha XS750 (wrote it off when I t-boned an EH Holden)
1980 Yamaha XS850
1985 Yamaha FJ1100 (fastest production motorcycle in the world at the time it came out)
1986 Yamaha XJ750P (ex police bike)
1988 Suzuki GSXR1100
(that’s Nullarbor Roadhouse in South Australia taken in 2014)
2003 Harley Davidson Softtail Nightrain (had to “let it go”)
Electric Scooters :
Segway Ninebot G30 Max
Segway Ninebot G65 Max
Segway Ninebot G65 Max (yeah - twice - top one got stolen)
Dragon Cyclone Pro (not really legal where I live - but it’s a lotta fun)
Electric Bicycles :
Kristall RX20 (same / similar to CMACEWheel RX20 - rebranded for Au market)
Other cars? Around 2000 - I bought a former company car from the company I worked for… Ford Falcon EF - was a “road warrior” and wanted something comfy with aircon (and music) to get from customer to customer…
The honda xl175 was on my list to get but worried about height as i am only a small guy to touch the floor also with the rain wondered about the tyres for grip, plus there was no where to go off road legally.
Probably a different XL175? This thing was from 1971 - in 1984 I desperately needed another motorcycle for my job (courier) - as the Kawasaki 250 had shit itself - and found the XL175 for $150 in the classifieds… Probably worst bike I ever owned… It was horrible - and lost count of the amount of times I pushed it the 5 km home from the city…
The XL175 was a twin - road / trail - based on the same motor and frame as another Honda road bike (CB175)… Pretty soon after 1971 - ALL - trail and road/trail bikes were single cylinder, whether 4 stroke or 2 stroke…
But having said that - pushing that bike wasn’t as back breaking as pushing my XS750 about 2km to a bike mechanic after I’d bent the valves in it on the eve of a long weekend when me and the missus were set to go away camping for 2 days (we went anyway - took her car, a Datsun 1600)…
I do all my own servicing on my electric scooters and bikes - but not vehicles with internal combustion engines… Most recently - I just replaced the front forks on my e-bike - I’d been riding along a cycle path and not paying attention - and slammed into a bollard…
But I was so extremely happy, in 2022, when I could exchange my Renault Grand-scenic to that KIA Carens, basically paying a minimal investment.
The Reanult was the shittiest car of my life, later I even opened a bottle of champaign to be able to get rid of it
So when I took the Reanult to the dealer for the last time, and actually buying the KIA, I shot this photo with my phone. As a farewell photo of the previous, and a welcom photo for the current…
This KIA does not have any space-technology, no turbo or such, no bluetooth either Just a simple petrol engine, with timing chain instead of a belt…
I expect it last forever
Anyway, today it’s still under the 7 years / 150 000 km warranty.
As for motorcycles, personally I never really liked them.
But one of my sons got infected, swallowed the “gateway drog”, and fell in love with motorcycles.
He has got now a Motron Revolver, this is a 125 ccm cycle.
Somewhere I have a photo of it when he took it from the dealer.
We all like to ride our bikes, not too often, but sometimes we may overdoing it…
…the most exaggerated thing we did was that biking around the lake Balaton (213 km!!), but in only one day.
I have a video of it, based on GPS log, and a with an action cam mounted on my bikes handlebar.
It was very cool, but never again… ..our asses really regretted it
I’m actually thinking about getting a non electric treadley (i.e. bicycle)… My e-bike is technically capable of 45 km/h - but - legally - must be limited to 25 km/h, and 250W motor max for pedal assist only :
So I’ve restricted it to pedal assist only, 25 km/h and physically disabled the throttle on the right handgrip… 25 km/h is a bit silly, as when I’m pummelling along on pedal assist - I regularly get overtaken by the lycra brigade doing 35-40 km/h on their racing bicycles…
But as I currently have 5 two wheeled vehicles - I reckon my missus will crack the shits if I try to add another! I really do need to sell my original 2021 Ninebot G30 Max… But that would mean plonking an ad (e.g. MarketPlace) and interacting with other humans probably face to face…
