Wow thats many extensions and they work together with no conflicts ?

Not that I’m aware of.

I use Firefox, with a few extensions: Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin, RemovePaywalls, and ProtonPass. Strict Enhanced Tracking Protection mode in settings, couple of other tweaks too. Tend not to use Forks as they’re typically downstream security patches and would rather adjust my settings personally anyway.

I’m pretty pro-Firefox generally; I don’t love the idea of mono-engine with a monopology over web standards and compatabilities, especially in the hands of Google. So I’d stick with Firefox even if Chromium solutions offered a slightly more frictionless experience, personally.

I use Firefox for YouTube, My5, My4, ITVX, Disney+, as Firefox is really good at video playback. For this site I use Firefox, but mostly for browsing the web I use Brave-Origin. Brave-Origin-Nightly or Beta in Arch Linux and Linux version is free to install and use. It has gotten rid of the bloat that is in normal Brave. Plus it too is good for online video playback, especially on Paramount +. I use it for uploading videos to YouTube. I’m not very good at YouTube, though I’m old school and not bothered by how many subscribers or likes and dislikes of my content. I do it purely for my own documentation.

I’m different to any other Linux You-Tuber, in the sense that I will point out faults in various Linux Distros. I do YouTube not for views, but because I like creating stuff. I use Davinci Resolve in Linux Mint 22.2 Xfce Edition, have been tinkering around with the 26.04 version of Linux Lite and Erik Dubois Kiro Linux, Arch based Distro in VMware. With both of these OSES you can make your own install ISO of your system.

If you have it running on your computer, you don’t need to run a second VPN through the browser. I do the same as you; ProtonVPN running on the computer and that takes care of browser traffic.

I have been using Firefox for many, many years. I really like the sync option it provides for my bookmarks and options. The current extensions I have installed are.

  • Bitwarden
  • ClearURLs
  • Privacy Possum
  • uBlock Origin
  • Video Download Helper

I use Microsoft Edge and Falkon for work stuff. The only thing I use Google Chrome for is an app (Paramount+).

I used to have Brave installed and occasionally use it, and may get back to it. When I’m on a non-x86 machine, my go-to is Chromium.

But everyone has different needs and different preferences. If Netscape Navigator was still a thing, I’d probably still be using it (I used it well into the early 2000s). I was never able to make myself like Firefox, and Opera and Vivaldi have always seemed a little bit
 busier
 than I need.

I agree. browsers are becoming enormous ‘do everything’ programs.

Yes here it is

Slims Mixed Bag Of Linux

I do gaming too, with Valve’s Proton so expect some long gaming videos. Played games in Linux Mint Xfce and Cachy OS Xfce.

I don’t do YouTube for a living thank God, as I would of been bankrupt from my first video. Like I said before I’m old school and remember My Space being an excellent site to get noticed as a musician or your own business in whatever it was. Then Facebook came along and ruined it all. YouTube was just starting up back then, way before Google bought it up and you could basically post anything you wanted, without copyright. Nowadays got to mind what you say, not allowed to say the word murder so change it to redrum.

Hello!
Doesn’t uBlock already block trackers?

I honest don’t know so I asked an AI agent. They are not always 100% correct but this is what it said to my inquire about what did ClearURL provide that was not included with Firefox.

  • Removes tracking parameters from URLs automatically
  • Blocks hyperlink auditing / ping tracking
  • Prevents Google & Yandex from rewriting search result links
  • Cleans multiple URLs at once

I dual-boot Windows 11 Pro 25H2 with Garuda Mokka Linux, so in both Windows and Garuda, I use Firefox and as a second browser, I use FireDragon (A fork of Floorp, developed by the Garuda dev team). I like FireDragon because it defaults to the Garuda seareX search engine, and I can install it on both OSes.

Zen browser is so far my favourite, but I use Helium sometimes when I need Chromium for compatibility reasons.

Zen is based off of Firefox, without the AI and other questionable Mozilla decisions.

Helium is based on Chromium, so it’s really snappy and supports Chrome Web Store extensions. It also really doesn’t add much boat to the browser engine by default
