You are an exceptional case on this forum. i tried Gentoo (with your help) and yes I can see it releases you from all sorts of restrictions. For most people it is just tooo time consuming keeping it updated if you compile. I would like to see how a binary Gentoo would compare with something like MX or Debian for daily use. Would it still be more of a burden? That amounts to asking is portage as usable as apt?
If the answer is yes, why arent we all using Gentoo?
