That might work for me. I am not wanting permanent storage … just a swap space. I need access from Linux and Android.
BTW.
while checking access to distrowatch I noticed , antiX is no 16, and my favourite Void is 32. Void was 100 a year ago , so that is a big rise. Void also now has some derivative distros …eg Noid, LazyLinux and Afagos which provide an easy installer and DE… a bit like Manjaro tries to beef up Arch.
Hi Neville - I just tried on my Samsung Galaxy A16 using the Samsung browser, and get the same “Forbidden” message. Bit it works fine using the DDG browser that I use as my default browser. Definitely a Samsung browser issue.
I am away quite a bit during the year and need access on the go rather than taking my linux box with me I access through my tablet hence at times i cannot answer linux questions easily
I do lots of work for my association and although Dropbox is good to pass on finished work files we have several google sheets and docs we all update and share and google works cross platform and is easy to share plus update. We all use google across platform no problems
Hi James,
Thanks for that.
How is it going out there in the sticks?
I once lived in the West Darling region of NSW … remote areas have their appeal.
Regards
Neville
“Kiwi isn’t more popular because development was abandoned April 2025Potential security risk. Use with caution.”
but also
" LEMUR BROWSER AND QUETTA BROWSER ARE ALTERNATIVES WITH CHROME EXTENSION SUPPORT.KIWI HAS STOPPED THE DEVOLOPMENT ON LAST YEAR"
I dont know what to think.
I tried quetta . It goes really well, but then I found this
" 1. Very untrustworthy is the first problem. They tried to hide the fact that they are from China and act like they are from the UK. When asked about it, they would ban users and remove posts. Claimed they would open source the browser.
2. On your privacy ignorance. You are correct; closed source does not automatically mean stealing data. However, data being sent back and logging of visited sites, calling home, etc. does not look good for a “privacy browser”.
3. Outdated Chromium base is an issue they face a lot with known CVEs and security issues. It uses a lot of the old Kiwi code base, which would have been fine 3 years ago. Oh, and they refuse to release any 3rd party security audits or even allow for access to auditable code to auditors. "
So I reluctantly uninstalled it.
Then I tried lemur
It will not share to email
Its rendering does not folluw the system dark theme
So I uninstalled lemur
I ended up with firefox focus … it does what I want
Sorry I missed lead you, done out of lack of knowledge just thought that as the report was on line today the writer had done more research. I bow to your better judgement and knowledge
Dont know about that.It was an interesting trial. Maybe kiwi is OK, even if frozen, if you must have a chrome clone..
Waterfox is not bad … I use it on my old tablet where firefox focus has issues.
