Hi B Lima!
Welcome to the forum!

Can you please describe the Name, Version, Desktop Environment and Linux Kernel of the OS you are using?

This can help us in helping you better…

Thanks

Regards,
Hrishikesh

Hey, my kernel is 5.4.0-107 generic and so does the sound… I did have the no sound issue with an older kernel that did not have the sound mod I needed. Take a look at this:

https://itsfoss.community/t/no-sound-in-20-04-again-fixed-it-kernel-sound-module-was-missing/7100

I had NO audio on my gigabyte brix mini-PC : Intel Celeron :

╭─x@fuglpige ~
╰─➤ sudo lspci -nnk | grep -i audio -A2
00:03.0 Audio device [0403]: Intel Corporation Broadwell-U Audio Controller [8086:160c] (rev 08)
Subsystem: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd Device [1458:1000]
	Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel
--
00:1b.0 Audio device [0403]: Intel Corporation Wildcat Point-LP High Definition Audio Controller [8086:9ca0] (rev 03)
Subsystem: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd Device [1458:fa53]
	Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel

Tried Ubuntu 18, 19, elementary, debian… etc… that was maybe 2 years ago? Gave up… Could only get audio out via HDMI or with a USB soundcard (like a USB headset - which is is effectively, a USB soundcrard). IT was a known issue with certain intel audio chipsets…

Gave up… That Brix is now running RHEL 8, for the lolz… no really, I’m using it as most of the work I do is with RHEL 7 and 8 - I don’t need sound on this thing, so haven’t tried to figure it out, and I also disabled the GUI, so it’s a headless device essentially…

Nutshell : I can’t tell you if audio’s workong on there or not… May check it later on this arvo if I can install mpeg123 and get it to work on REL 8…
