Hi Ernest ! I have tried both Dr460nized versions i have tried the Cinnamon version and xfce versions . Mikael
Maybe you should try the vanilla Kde flavor - Garuda KDE-Lite. The other flavors may have something onboard that conflicts with something on your computer, although I’m not going to hold out much hope for that to work, because the xfce flavor should run well on nearly any computer.
What’s your computer, anyway? baybe I can check out what it has, and maybe figure out why it won’t run Garuda, if nothing else,
Ernie
I got gforce rtx 5070ti 16gb vram and ryzen 7 9800 and 32 gb ram and 2 nvme ssd disks on 1 TB each. Mikael
Did you assemble or buy your computer? If you assembled it from components, which motherboard do you have? And if you bought it, what’re the brand and model names
Ernie
I bought the components from an online computer store and they assamble it for me its a well known store here in sweden the motherboard is Gigabyte B850M D3HP
Do you know which revision it is?
Ernie
No i have no ide what revission it is. Sorry
Hi Ernie,
Look at his boot message … it is in this topic
It seems to be not finding a filesystem?
Cheers
Neville
I was considering that possibility. If his motherboard’s too new, it may not be supported with the live image yet. If nothing else, we may be able to come up with the reason why he can’t boot the live image ..
Ernie
i bought my computer in Januari this year but have no idea how old the motherboard is.
And i tried to install it both on unalocated disk and the file system that Garuda use
So, did you get the live image running, and the failure is with the installed system? I ask because I was under the impression that you couldn’t even get the live image to boot …
Ernie
Gigabyte B850M D3HP
Kernel Requirements: Motherboard manufacturers like
Gigabyte primarily support Windows.
To ensure your CPU, chipset, and ports work seamlessly,
use a modern Linux distribution (such as Fedora,
openSUSE Tumbleweed, or Arch-based distributions)
that includes kernel 6.12 or newer. !!
yes i get the usb with the garuda iso running but when i click on install garuda it starts loading and it loads over 6 min then i get an error message and dont get any futher. if you look att the pics on the post Neville showed you you see what happends. i think Garuda is a modern arch based distro
We can ask the modes to move it to garuda discussion ?
Done. It fits better here
Hi Dan did you try Cachyos ?
Yeah - briefly…
Seemed okay - not sure it would be a daily driver…
Maybe I shoulda chose Gnome insteead of letting it default to KDE (just not a fan of KDE)…
I’ll stick with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS for the meantime - and wait until Symless Synergy can guarantee 100% complete compatibility with Wayland…
Hi Ernie do you know how to install garuda with the terminal , i thought that i can try that when i cant install it with the live usb. Mikael
I’ve never tried it. Go to the Gauda Forum, the ‘Issues and Answers’ category (left column) and search for something like ‘cli-install’ or simply ask ‘Can I install Garuda from the CLI?’ and explain that you’re unable to install graphically, so you’d like to try it from the CLI while running the live image. Based on my experience, you should receive a reply within the first 24 hours, give or take.
Ernie
ok. will do that .Thanks.
