As far as I know, automatic updating does.
Others will know more about that than me.
This is not a new thing!
My journey to Linux was inspired exactly by that phenomenon!
I removed Candy crush saga (a game with some GBâs in size) and when it was absent, disk space was sufficient, when it got automagically reinstalled I ran out of disk space again. And that was back in 2019 with Windows 10 Home.
Another pain was that Win 10 installed a newer version of AMD GPU driver (R9 380 that time) of course the new driver did not work with Vegas. I had to remove the drivers completely, and then install the older version I had, that worked with Vegas. All that happened literally every second week.
I beleive Windows 10 pro would have given better control over what to install and what not, but previously I had Windows 7 home, which was just fine.
Best OS MS did in my book, downhill thereon.
I still run win7 in a VM. Never actually found a use for it, but at least I can understand it.
So do I. Just for the sake of it, and I have some of my paid software from that era installed and activated there.
And I have Windows 3.1 as well ![]()
Absolutely useless, but funâŚ
Love it. ![]()
Keep them coming Las
There is a solution for that.
We got way too offtopic.
Absolutely.
To get back on, I donât use AI.
Neither do I. I made this thread to warn others against using Deep Seek after reading the Krebs on Security item I referenced. I didnât expect all this to-do over it ![]()

Nor me, diversions of topic are basically of no help.
Iâm guilty of such.
They can be entertaining and can lead to new topics
AI says stay on topic.
I once asked AI how to use a crosscut saw and finished up in hospital.
When the topic wanders, I have no issues with that. For me itâs all entertaining, and I enjoy reading my fellow FOSSers thoughts, although I must admit that we should all try to remember the original point of the thread from time to time. ![]()

Dont ask it about a chainsaw.
Agreed ![]()
I donât use AI if I can help it ![]()

Wow! Ouch!
