It was a long time ago, but IIRC there was a choice. I’ve installed it once with EFI, just to learn how it works, but then went back to using MBR.

Yeah, thanks, I actually have an 8TB spinny-go-round drive they share, plus shared VM’s on nvme drives. I have a Debian VM that is only used for personal stuff, like CC transactions.

I installed LMDE 7 using the linuxmintupgrade tool.
The upgrade tool reported 3 packages not included with the upgrade:
epsonscan2, epsonscan2-non-free-plugin, zoom
but these seem to work OK afterwards.
The tool installed the new version of Libreoffice, except for Base, which it didn’t install.
I installed LO Base, but reports wouldn’t work. I had to install more components:
sudo apt install libreoffice-report-builder libreoffice-report-builder-bin
Everything seems to be OK now.
