I prefer Yes’s 2nd album “The Yes Album” - I still play that one fairly often (2-3 times a year) - first heard it around 1973 or 74 when I was still in primary school (or grade school as it’s called in the USA).

I also love CSNY, and Deep Purple, and Pink Floyd… Don’t mind any of those bands actually (but I prefer Peter Gabriel solo to Genesis). Rick Wakeman played keyboards on my 2nd favourite Black Sabbath album : “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath”

I know someone who was getting AC/DC tickets for their Perth West Australia show next Monday - but I may not be able to make it - my wife’s in hospital (fairly serious)… Don’t know when she’ll be coming home… Anyway - I prefer original “old school” AC/DC with Bon Scott (who grew up just down the road in Fremantle) - and was lucky enough to see them live when I was 14 in December 1976 in Melbourne… But I’d still love to see them again, even if there’s only Angus left from 1976 - plus their support band “Amyl and the Sniffers” are a favourite band of mine too!

We shall pray for a good outcome.

Thanks for kind thoughts everyone…

She’s home now - got discharged yesterday - a bit premature I reckon - substandard duty of care in my opinion - a fully public hospital would have kept her in till at least the weekend - but you get that with quasi-privatized healthcare… Won’t go into details - but a fairly serious condition that happened to her Dad at about the same age (but he did kick on for another 20 years after that) - complicated but a 2nd condition also only diagnosed when she was admitted to the ER / ED.

Anyway - back to music… Been listening to a lot of JJ Cale last couple of days…

That’s Sayonara Player - which I first heard of / learned off, from a post (can’t remember if it was an email digest of IT’SFoss news, or a social media post - about 7 or so years ago - and it’s been my goto media player ever since… Highly recommend Sayonara - the author has posted on here occasionally - it’s not only a great player that will play anything you have codecs for - it’s the best metatag editor I’ve ever used - only occasionally - I’ve had to break out CLI-fu - metaflac - when Sayonara was unable to replace/remove track / album cover-art e.g. :
metaflac --remove-tag=COVERART --dont-use-padding *.flac
after which - I was then able to use Sayonara to replace the embedded cover-art on the FLAC files…

I was doing a dash order at the crack of dawn at Timmy’s. I texted the customer to let her know it’d be a bit due to the morning rush. She suggested, ‘If you take the backstreets, shouldn’t be too bad.’ That was last week. Today, I got the same customer again – she’s mixed race, looks like she’s got Black and Italian heritage, nose rings, and a few tats. As I’m on my way, I text her back, ‘Lol, backstreets again!’ I was waiting at the store, joking around, when suddenly, inspiration strikes, and I start singing:

'Backstreet driver, high all the time,
Cops pull me over, ask what’s that smell.
I say, “What’s that smell?” skunk, Drumroll please!
The crowd cheers, ‘WEED!’"

She laughed so hard she almost dropped her coffee!"

Sorry think I missed the point of this post, but having done some research found the link and decided I am too old to know or understand the music link.

Come back stock atkin and waterman all is forgiven

Me, too, Paul. The calendar is nobody’s friend.

But without it how would we remember anything

No link my customer asked me to take the backstreets to get to her house, So I came up with some lyrics called backstreet driver. Cords are G D Em with a rap beat.

'Backstreet driver, high all the time,
Cops pull me over, ask what’s that smell.
I say, “What’s that smell?” skunk, Drumroll please!
The crowd cheers, ‘WEED!’"

I don’t actually mind some rap music - e.g. early Public Enemy are awesome “Fight The Power!”, and I quite like some NWA and also Ice Cube, and I always kinda liked The Beastie Boys, oh and I love some early Cypress Hill, who sang about weed culture a fair bit… But never got into other white rap a.k.a. Eminem…

And I like some Aussie hip-hop like Hilltop Hoods, Seth Sentry and Briggs (who’s indigenous)…

But I’m unsure about your song - is this something you composed yourself?

Sorry - I think that (SA&W) was the worst thing that EVER happened to music! A travesty… - but - each to their own I guess… Thanks to them - Australia foisted Kylie and Danni Minogue and Jason Donovan onto the rest of the world (Pommyland anyway)

This rock and rap business is beyond me.
I like simple music where I can follow a tune and maybe hear a few wise words.
